Rosie has served in Miami-Dade law enforcement for over 30 years, rising in rank throughout her career, and now serves as the elected Sheriff of Miami-Dade County, previously holding one of the highest leadership positions as Assistant Director of Investigative Services.

In addition to being a seasoned law enforcement professional, Rosie is also a dedicated wife and mother. She understands the importance of family and relates with the safety needs of Miami-Dade’s residents. Her well-rounded life experience contributes to her genuine passion for public safety.

Rosie is an advocate for every community in Miami-Dade County, and over the course of her career she has developed thorough knowledge of the law enforcement needs of the many cities and neighborhoods within Miami-Dade County. She is well equipped to be an effective and trusted sheriff.
Career
Rosie now serves as the elected Sheriff of Miami-Dade County and has taken on significant responsibilities in leading the newly established Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, including overseeing the successful transition from the former Miami-Dade Police Department. Her tireless work continues to keep Miami-Dade County residents in good hands.
